Universal American School welcomes serious students who value learning. The Middle School division of Universal American School offers an American curriculum presented exclusively in English to grade five through eight. Grade five serves as a transition year between elementary school and middle school. Grade five students receive core instruction from two teachers: one for math and science and the other for language arts and social studies. Students in grades six through eight change classes for each subject. Specialist teachers provide instruction in health science, art, music, physical education, Internet & Computer Technology (ICT) and Arabic. Muslim students also receive instruction in Islamic Religion and Holy Quran. Students in grades six through eight may elect French in lieu of some specials classes.
Teachers at Universal American School know that educating the heart is as important as educating the head. Character education is embedded within the curriculum. Monthly character assemblies address issues such as responsibility, trustworthiness, honesty & integrity, kindness and citizenship.
Students in good standing have opportunities to participate in sport and after school activities. Tutoring services are available for a fee for those students who need additional time and support.
Institutions of learning must also be institutions that learn. UAS faculty and administrators (K-12) actively participate in professional development initiatives available within the school, within the community and through professional organizations such as NESA (Near East South Asia Council of Overseas Schools).
