Elementary School
The warm and nurturing KG/elementary staff that greet UAS students and their families each and every day provides just the right environment for learning and high student achievement. This school year, we are focusing on respect, learning, and communication. Everything we do will fall in line with these three goals. So far, our school rules have been based on these and you will find that throughout the year, we will reinforce them all.
At the KG and elementary levels, our focus is also on strengthening a foundation of skills for all students that will see them through a successful academic career here at UAS. Our Language, Math, Science and Social Studies curriculum provides us guidance in meeting all of our students needs and spirals up the grade levels so that all students are equally prepared for the next level. We are constantly looking at ways, however, to improve our instructional program through researching best elementary practices. You will begin to see evidence of these instructional practices as the year progresses. We also offer a wide array of other educational experiences for students, including Art, Music, PE and Computer. We believe Arabic and Islamic Studies to be an integral part of a student’s day and are treated as such.
As we continue to grow and improve our educational program, I hope that you make it a goal of yours to become an involved member of our school community. This year, you will have many opportunities to take part in your child’s learning and I encourage you to share your thoughts and ideas and hear about the progress we are making in reaching our school-wide goals. With your participation, we will continue to create a better school and just the right educational setting for you children.
