Elementary Student Council

During the 2008/09 School Year, the UAS Elementary Student Council (ESC) was re-formed. Two representatives and one alternate from each Grade 5 class and one representative and one alternate from each Grade 3 and Grade 4 class were elected. The ESC officers were elected from the Grade 5 elected representatives. The officers and representatives spearheaded many activities in the second half of the year, including Random Acts of Kindness Week activities, beach clean-up field trips, collecting donations for Gaza, and Teacher Appreciation Week goodies.For the 2009/10 School Year, the ESC is expanding to two representatives and one alternate from each Grade 3 and Grade 4 class and three representatives and one alternate from each Grade 5 class.

Elementary Student Council provides an introduction to student government and is designed to make our school a better place to learn and grow. Only Grades 3-5 students serve on the Elementary Student Council but planned activities will be for all elementary students. The purpose of the ESC is to promote good citizenship, encourage responsibility, help to teach respect of all individuals in the greater school community, involve all students in sharing ideas and working together, and to help and support other individuals and groups in our community.
