It is with great honor and pride that I welcome you to the Universal American School (UAS) web site. I know as you spend a few moments visiting our site that you will clearly see the commitment and dedication of the educational and support staff in developing the finest teaching and learning environment possible at UAS. With a new school facility and new teacher housing, a truly unique and supportive educational setting has been created. There is absolutely no doubt that UAS offers teachers an excellent opportunity to both live and work in one of Kuwaiti’s premier international private schools.
The mission of Universal American School is to ensure all students become responsible, productive, and compassionate citizens with the skills to reason critically, communicate effectively, learn continuously, think creatively, solve problems, and make sensible decisions. UAS believes all children can learn at exceptionally high levels and strives to ensure they in fact do. All fiscal and human resources are dedicated to preparing students to comprehend, appreciate, and respect the Arabic language, cultural, and religion while at the same time attending classes that are typically found in a challenging and quality American curriculum.
UAS serves students in grades Kindergarten through 12th Grade and provides a high school college preparatory curriculum that is taught in English. The school is accredited by the New England Association of Schools & Colleges as well as the European Council of International Schools. The school focuses on providing students with opportunities to attain the essential knowledge and skills that are absolutely necessary for experiencing immediate academic success and succeeding in an ever changing and culturally diverse global economy.
Those of us who are fortunate to be able to be a member of the UAS family believe that a stimulating, challenging, and nurturing school climate results in students acquiring the ethical and moral attributes that are highly cherished in our society. Therefore, the needs and interests of each and every student are recognized early on and are used to shape and strengthen individual character. The academic, behavior, and conduct expectations at UAS are demanding yet reasonable, with all students expected to meet them. Virtually all students who graduate from UAS attend postsecondary universities throughout the world and eventually enjoy rewarding careers.
I am excited about the educational challenges that have yet to be realized and feel extremely blessed to be able to work with a wonderful group of educators, students, parents, and community leaders who share a common vision for their school . . . to never settle for being just an outstanding school but rather striving to be a school of excellence.
