Book Week 2017 was a grand success! The Nursery-Grade 4 students participated in an array of reading activities, from designing a bookmark, to enjoying a puppet show from ‘Puppet Kingdom’ and most of all, ‘Night at the Library’!
This year we had almost 200 students and their parents attend this one-of-a-kind event! ‘Night at the Library’ has quickly become a UAS tradition that students and their parents look forward to each year. Ms. Frizzle and her assistants were there experimenting with all kinds of hands-on science activities, spooky stories were read to those who were brave enough, the much-loved ‘chalkboard wall’ was filled with student ‘graffiti’ and the newest activity, cookie decorating, sent everyone home with a tasty treat!
The culminating event was, ‘Character Day’ where students and staff dressed as their favorite storybook character. Parents joined their child in the classroom for treats, songs and seasonal activities-all enjoyed a great time!
